About Kvernufoss
Kvernufoss is often described as a hidden gem waterfall located on Iceland's South Coast, near the village of Skógar. Tucked away in a beautiful, mossy gorge (Kvernugil) just behind the Skógar Museum, it requires a short hike (around 15-20 minutes each way) to reach. Though smaller than its famous neighbour Skógafoss, Kvernufoss stands about 30 meters (98 ft) tall and offers the unique experience of being able to walk behind its cascading water, conditions permitting.
