About Aber Falls
Aber Falls (Rhaeadr Fawr) is one of North Wales’ most impressive and accessible waterfalls, where the Afon Goch drops around 37 metres (120 ft) over a rocky cliff at the foot of the Carneddau mountains near the village of Abergwyngregyn. The walk to the falls follows a wide valley through woodland and open countryside, making it a popular family-friendly outing with spectacular views and a dramatic waterfall at the end.
Getting there
Drive to the Aber Falls car parks near Abergwyngregyn (LL33 0LP). Most visitors use the upper or lower Aber Falls car parks, reached via the village from Junction 13 of the A55. From the car park, simply follow the clearly signposted gravel path up the valley towards Aber Falls. The walk is about 1.5 miles (2.4 km) each way, mostly on a wide, well-maintained track with a gentle uphill gradient. After around 30–45 minutes, you'll reach the waterfall viewing area at the base of the falls.
