Sea Lake
Attraction Gia Lai, Vietnam
About Sea Lake
An iconic natural landmark located just 7 kilometers from central Pleiku, known as Lake T’Nưng—a vast, freshwater expanse that feels like a miniature ocean hidden in the Central Highlands. Formed within an ancient volcanic crater active millions of years ago, which filled over time with rainwater and natural spring flows to create a deep, crystal-clear lake. Earned the poetic moniker "Đôi mắt Pleiku" (The Eyes of Pleiku), celebrated in Vietnamese music and lore for its serene beauty, deep blue waters, and surrounding pine-forested shores. Offers a rare geological landscape where a dramatic volcanic past transforms into a tranquil inland sea set against the red basalt soil and cool highland atmosphere.
Getting there
Accessible via a short 15-minute drive (7 km) north from central Pleiku along Tôn Đức Thắng street, leading directly to the entrance gate. Dedicated parking for motorbikes and cars is available at the site's main entrance area. A paved, tree-lined walking path leads visitors through a high pine alley directly to the scenic viewpoint overlooking the lake. Best visited during the dry season from October to April for clear skies, crisp highland air, vibrant green landscapes, and optimal lighting for photography.
