K50 Waterfall

Waterfall Gia Lai, Vietnam

About K50 Waterfall

A breathtaking, pristine waterfall hidden deep within the Kon Chư Răng Nature Reserve, widely regarded as one of the most majestic and striking natural wonders of Vietnam's Central Highlands. Features a massive torrent plunging from a height of 50 to 54 meters down a sheer cliff face, creating a thunderous white curtain of water contrasting against lush old-growth jungle. Houses a spacious natural cave directly behind the waterfall known as Hang Én (Swallow Cave), where resident swallows nest and provide a surreal vantage point looking out through a shifting screen of water and mist. Delivers a magical visual spectacle during sunny days, as mist refracting light frequently forms shimmering rainbows across the cavern opening. Best explored between March and June when seasonal weather conditions provide optimal, safer trails for trekking and optimal visibility for experiencing the wilderness.

Getting there

Accessible via an overland journey toward the borderlands of Gia Lai province, followed by guided trekking routes through the Kon Chư Răng Nature Reserve trail network. Requires a serious multi-hour hike or motorbike ride through rugged forest tracks, making professional local guides, permits, and proper trekking gear strictly necessary. Wear high-traction trekking boots, quick-dry outdoor clothing, and use waterproof sacks to protect gear from dense mist and river crossings. Best visited during the dry season months from March to June to avoid dangerous flash floods and slippery, impassable mud trails common during the peak rainy season.
